Introductions
Welcome to all the new and returning members to the club. Reminder that returning members must have a recommendation letter on file, and new members must receive a recommendation letter. We will have a new Rotary contact this year and try to partner with Rotary to match their themes and service goals this year.
Western NC Chili Cook Off
The Western NC Chili Cook Off sponsored by Shooting Stars Dance Academy will be held at the Hickory Crawdad’s Stadium this Saturday, September 16. There will be a face-painting service opportunity from 10-12 and from 2-4. Volunteers are asked to meet Mrs. Williams at the front entrance to receive directions.
Creepy Caldwell Festival
The Creepy Caldwell Festival at CCCTI will be held on Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27 from 6-11. Many clubs at CCCTI will be actively participating, and Interact is tasked with contributing to the Trunk-or-Treat area of the Kids Festival in the K Bldg parking lot. There will also be haunted trail rated PG-13 that will be handled by other clubs at CCCTI. We will also be advertising for the veteran care package collection being hosted by our club while we are at the event. There will be more information to come on specific service opportunities at the festival.
Veteran Care Packages
This year we will be hosting a drive at our school to collect items for veteran care packages. We will advertise this information at the Creepy Caldwell Festival.
Officers
Elections for new officers will be held in January.
Next Meeting
The club’s next meeting will be this coming Thursday, September 21 in room 210 from 2:45-3:30. Bring whatever snacks or drinks you are able contribute.
